Thank you for checking out my website. In the near future, all counseling and ministry material on this website will be moved to DOTCross.org. At that time, this website will be used solely for my art (paintings and such) and my writing (books and articles). I will do my very best to see that psychology today listing and etherapi and others have my new website updated. If I miss someone, a website, it will not be intentional, and you can always find me at dotcross.org
Whether you are sorting out a difficult relationship, parenting challenges, breaking the grip of addiction, mental illness, recovering from trauma or childhood abuse, or seeking support and encouragement, I am here to assist you. Having dealt with the effects of childhood abuse, and my own addictions, I understand what you may be dealing with, but together we can find the answers you are seeking. As an artist, I may use art, poetry, narrative, and even dreams to help identify issues, and explore options for change.
As a counselor, I see my role as a listener and educator, offering wisdom from the scriptures and insight from my personal experience. Allowing the Holy Spirit to be our guide, I help you explore, set goals, bring change to your life, sometimes using dream therapy.
Using a cognitive behavioral / educational style to facilitate emotional and behavioral changes one desires, I work with you to help you meet your counseling goals. I am experienced in abuse and addictions, anxiety, stress related disorders, PTSD, and depression. I have taught classes in parenting, abuse and addiction, and recovery life skills.
In December, another counselor will join me for a practicum learning experience. Tina has a masters in forensic psychology and a background as a court appointed special advocate. She has been a residential manager and a case manager with Columbia River Mental Health, and her specialty is forensics and chemical dependency. Tina is experienced and capable and I look forward to working with her.
Fee: $80 per 50 minute session.
For insurance, I accept multiple insurance companies but you are responsible for payment, at the time of service, whatever copay your insurance has set. An unmet deductible means you must pay the full fee until your deductible has been met, unless other arrangements have been made in advance. Some pro bono (no fee) counseling is available.
Please call the number on your insurance card to be certain I am listed as a provider, as there are too many plans within each insurance company for this counselor to keep track.
